Mystery Country Moose Hunts

We offer high Quality, full service Trophy Moose hunts in northern Manitoba, Canada. The area east of Thompson known as Mystery Country offers some of the best hunting in North America! The habitat at Mystery Country is just beginning to reach it’s maximum potential for raising Monster Moose! The two main areas Dafoe Lake and Bear Head lake are just now beginning to recover from the devastating fires that burned the country side black. Nature’s way of rejuvenating the forest to produce maximum feed for the Majestic moose that call it home. With abundant feed the cow moose are commonly seen with twin calves, a sure sign of a healthy moose population. With opportunities running at 100% and hunters taking an average of 85% it’s no wonder we are booking for 2007!

All hunts are timed for maximum opportunity to coincide with the fall rut. The only uncontrollable factor, which is the weather, (I guess that’s why we call it Hunting!) is beyond our control. Hunts begin around the 20^th of September and go until about the second week of October. Hunts are conducted by boat, travelling to different areas to do repetitive calling and/or glass and stalk methods as required. Combination hunts for Bear and wolf are also available. We have guides that are avid bow and rifle hunters that are just as eager to go hunting as you are! As well, all hunts include the chance for some of the best Northern, Walleye fishing and Nature viewing in the province!

Hunting is done from two locations, Dafoe Lake cabin and Bear Head lake cabin. Both cabins are modern with hot and cold running water, shower, propane lights, fridge, stove and satellite phone. Group sizes are a maximum four, with hunts running nine to fourteen days, depending on group size.  Over night tent camps may be required from time to time to get where the Monsters are. A maximum of eight hunts are offered each year. Each location has 14 and 16-foot Lund boats with 4 stroke motors. All hunts are an all inclusive vacation! All you bring is your gear, sleeping bag and your love of the Great Outdoors!
