 We
offer high Quality, full service Trophy Black Bear hunts in
northern Manitoba, Canada. The area east of Thompson known
as Mystery Country offers some of the best hunting in North
America! Our area is extremely remote, offering one of the
largest concentrations of Black Bears in Manitoba.
All bear hunting is done over active baits from safe tree
stands or ground blinds. All hunters have access to at least
three active bait sites each. Hunt sites are baited and
regularly maintained starting up to three weeks before your
hunt to ensure active baits. Mystery Country limits the
ratio of hunters per guide to a maximum of (three to one)
ensuring quality service. Our guides are also excellent
cooks and fishing guides as well as trained to help with
processing your animal once you have been successful. The
chance of taking a colour phase bear is a real possibility,
with colour phase bears running about 33% of population. Our
spring hunt runs for two weeks, usually the last week of May
and the first week of June, weather permitting. The fall
hunt runs approximately three weeks beginning around the
last week of August. Fall hunts also offer the opportunity
to harvest a timber wolf. As well, all hunts include the
chance for some of the best Northern, Walleye fishing and
Nature viewing known to man!
Hunting is done from two locations,
Dafoe
Lake cabin and
Bear Head lake cabin. Both
cabins are modern with hot and cold running water, shower,
propane light, fridge, stove and satellite phone. Group
sizes are from a maximum of three to six, depending on
location. A maximum of twelve hunts are offered each year.
The opportunity for a combination Bear/ Moose/Wolf is only
offered in the last week of September. Each location has 14
and 16-foot Lund boats with 4 stroke motors. All hunts are
an all inclusive vacation! All you bring is your gear,
sleeping bag and your love of the Great Outdoors!
